In Love with Le Chateau

Hi scrappers

I had some fun on the weekend playing with the brand new Kaiser range Le Chateau. As soon as I laid my eyes on it I fell in love with the soft colours and birdcage images. It is so beautiful and there are some really gorgeous Wooden Flourishes that co-ordinate so well.

I used a Kaiser Sketch for this layout (check out the free Workshop Magazines for their sketches) and this is what I came up with....

....Aren't those colours just lovely? I wanted to keep the wood frame and the bird on a branch quite light in colour so all I did was apply Crackle Accents directly onto the raw wood. Once it was dry, I then rubbed in some Black Soot Distress Ink with a sponge and then buffed it just with some tissues.

The photos are of Hayley and Brenton in our hayshed.

Why not pay Simone and the girls a visit and check out this range for yourself. Be quick though because I've got a feeling this one is going to sell out fast!!

Thanks for stopping by the blog and happy scrappin'. Remember we love your comments and feedback.

An ATC A Day - Day 11

Hi everyone

Here is today's little ATC featuring the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature Frame...

...I found a beautiful image of a fob watch on a Heartwarming Vintage sheet which gave me the idea to do an Alice In Wonderland theme ATC with a stamped image of the white rabbit. I used a Kaiser stamp applied to transparency for the large clock and the smaller one which was stamped onto cardstock. I rubbed Antique Linen Distress Ink into the cardstock clock face and then applied Crackle Accents to it as well as the vintage fob watch image. The Miniature Frame was sprayed with Tattered Leather Glimmermist and Crackle Accents applied to that as well. Then it was simply a matter of assembling all the pieces once they were dry.

Hope you like it! That concludes my Days of ATCs but I will be back soon with some more projects. More ATCs, a card, a layout....not sure what yet!! Will just go with the flow! LOL

An ATC A Day - Day 10

Hey there.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I have had the kids home from Kindy this week due to the sniffles. Hayley seems worse today so a doctor's trip may be on the cards for tomorrow...not that they ever really help!! So I am tearing my hair out this week and crying out for a bit of alone time!! LOL

Anyway, in between all the wiping noses and squabbling and tending to their every need I actually managed to get an ATC done!!! This one features the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniatures Frame.....

...I have used my favourite Heartwarming Vintage sheet for this ATC and cut out the grumpy little girl, the party hat and the Party Pooper quote. I created wings by applying a Kaiser butterfly stamp onto transparency and then cutting out the individual wings. On the 'rough' side of the transparency I applied some Rock Candy Distress Stickles to give the wings some sparkle (difficult to see in the photo). The little party hat got a coat of the Stickles too.

As for the frame, that was simply given a single coat of Tattered Leather Glimmermist. Hope you like it. Thanks for looking and I'll be back tomorrow with a bit of an Alice In Wonderland theme.

An ATC A Day - Day 9

Hey there scrappers and ATCers.

Today's ATC features the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature Leaf as promised.....

I have used some leftover scraps of pattern paper for this ATC and a bird's nest image from a Heartwarming Vintage sheet. I scrunched up the image into a ball, flattened out again and then inked it with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
I gave the leaf a really good spray of Tattered Leather Glimmermist and when I say a good spray I mean I drowned that sucker!! Once it was dry I gave it a fairly thick coat of Crackle Accents. When it was completely dry I added it to the ATC with a velvet leaf and a skeleton leaf for some different textures as well as some flowers I had in my stash.

Thanks for looking. Haven't got a clue yet what tomorrow's will be!!! Best go and make it in between entertaining snotty nosed children, housework, baking cookies for my husband to take to work, playing with an energetic labrador, dishes, cooking dinner. Damn!! Where did my housework fairy go! LOL

An ATC A Day - Day 8

Good morning scrappers and ATCers.

Well my little girl is 5 today!! We are having a quiet day at home after all the excitement on the weekend. It's too cold and wet outside to do anything anyway. Perfect weather for getting some scrapping done though!!

Today's ATC features the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature Scroll Frame....

...You may have figured out by now that I have a thing for Joss paper. A brilliant designer introduced me to it in one of her classes and I just love it. It's so good for antiquing. On this scroll frame I have applied some PVA Glue with my finger, waited until it was tacky and then pressed the Joss paper onto it several times all over the surface. This removes the metallic 'stuff' from the paper leaving it on the surface you have applied it to. It doesn't give full coverage which is perfect because then you can rub some Distress Ink in with a sponge. For this one I have used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

Other products used include some sheet music, Heartwarming Vintage bird image and quote and some old K&Co tags I had leftover in my stash.

If you haven't tried Artist Trading Cards why not give it a go. Pop along to a swap meet or ATC class here at Abundantia's Gold to get you started. Be sure to contact Simone and the girls to book in though as the spaces fill up fast! The only rules of ATCs are they have to be 2 1/2" x 3 1/2", details on the back and popped into a plastic sleeve. They can only be traded with other ATCers and never sold. They are a great way to use up your scraps because they are so small as well as adding some new product in the form of some RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniatures. Simone has heaps of great product in store now that is perfect for ATCs. Go on...you know you want to!! Just be warned they are highly addictive and deceptively time consuming!! Don't say I didn't warn you!! LOL

Tomorrow's little treat will be a beautiful leaf. Stay tuned and stay warm people......

An ATC A Day - Day 7

Hello ATCers.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend...despite the weather on Sunday!! It was Hayley's 5th Birthday party on Sunday so I got to spend the weekend baking and cleaning! GROAN Also got to visit my tiny 4 week old Burmese kitten. Aaaww!! How adorable. Not much scrapping happened here much to my despair. Need to get caught up now with the ATCs especially as my supply is dwindling!! It is my therapy too after all! HA ha

Anyway, today's ATC features the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature Scroll....

...How cute is that Heartwarming Vintage image of the little girl sitting on the moon? This was a really simple ATC. Not too much fuss and for the scroll I simply sprayed it with Black Gold Glimmermist. Too easy!! The base was given the same treatment as the Day 5 ATC with a mix of Lyra Watercolour crayons and sea salt and sprayed with Glimmermist on Heidi Swapp Invisibles paper.

Seeya tomorrow!!

An ATC A Day - Day 6

Hi everyone

Here's today's little entry featuring the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature Cat.....

This ATC has several layers to it. The base is Tim Holtz Grunge Paper. First I scraped some Gesso across it using a credit card. Once completely dry I rubbed in some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. Next I ran it through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Then it was sprayed with Pumpkin Pie Glimmermist. The great thing about Grunge Paper is it can really take a beating!! LOL
Over the top of that I attached a birdcage transparency cut to size. Then I layered on some torn sheet music, brown mesh ribbon and lace. I then attached an RW Laser Cuts frame which I had inked and crackled with Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint. Also rubbed in some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.I stuck a Heartwarming Vintage cat image on top which I crackled with Crackle Accents.
For the pussycat I simply gave it a good coat of Tattered Leather Glimmermist. Once it was dry I glued on some leftover Prima bling I had laying around. They just happened to be the right shape for cat's eyes. You've gotta be lucky sometimes!!
Stay tuned ATCers. There's another little treasure just around the corner!!
B-)

A websters pages page with a few other brands thrown in

I have done this page with the Webster's pages seaside retreat range.I have stamped inked and glimmer misted. The overall affect is great. The clock stamps are kaiser craft and the title is hand written and cut out.I will be doing a class with males in mind with all of these techniques being used so stay tuned for snippets of the page.Have a great week everybody.Take care Kerry xx

An ATC A Day - Day 5

Hi there fellow ATCers.

Thanks for stopping by. Sorry I had a little break but I'm back with a vengeance now with lots of ATCs up my sleeve...and all over my desk!! For such little things I still manage to spread everything over my whole desk, the floor, the chair next to my desk etc.

Todays little treat features the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature flower. This is what I did..........

For the ATC base I used a piece of Heidi Swapp Invisibles to which I had applied Lyra watercolour crayons with an Aquapen. While it was still wet I sprinkled on some sea salt and allowed it to dry completely before wiping off all the salt.I gave it a spray of Old Lace Glimmermist and inked the edges with Lightning Black Brilliance ink. The little girl with butterfly wings was cut from a sheet of Heartwarming Vintage images. For the miniature flower, I first applied Versa Color Cyan ink, sprayed it with Marshmallow Glimmermist and then applied Glossy Accents over the top.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to go and check out all of the gorgeous ATC Miniatures available for sale instore now!! Hope you'll come visit again tomorrow for another ATC.

Jungle Bug

I had a lovely time at the monthly Scrap'n'chat last night, and I thought I'd share what I created with you all ! I created a little OTP, to display some lovely pics I took of my littlest boys on mother's day at the park. As soon as I saw the new Kaisercraft Jungle Bug collection, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Together with the die cut pack, and 2 pieces from an old mini album I had I made this double sided display.

Thanks for having a look : )

An ATC A Day - Day 4

Back again for my next ATC! This is my favourite one so far I think. It features the RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature key. When I looked at the key the first thing that sprang to mind was 'Key To My Heart'. So this is what I came up with....

The base for this ATC, I made from Tim Holtz Grunge Paper. I scraped some Gesso across it with an old credit card and then sprayed liberally with Black Gold Glimmermist. On top of that, I inked the edges of some pale pink patterned paper with Lightning Black Brilliance Ink. The next layer was a picture cut from a vintage romance comic novel (never knew such a thing existed!!). On top of that I added a Prima love heart stamp embossed with Black Opal Embossing Powder. I cut part of the love heart away so that the faces on the comic wouldn't be obscured. Also added was a wedding sticker and some twine tied around the ATC with a tiny pink flower threaded through the knot.

For the gorgeous little key, I again used some Joss paper to give it an antiqued metallic look and then rubbed in Rusty Hinge Distress Ink with a sponge. This made it look even more rusty and antique. I finished it off by simply knotting some twine at the top.

Thanks for looking. Back tomorrow with a cute little pussycat.

An ATC A Day - Day 3

Day 3 of my ATC challenge and I chose to play with this exquisite RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniature feather. I just love the design of this feather. Now when I think feathers...I think BIRDS!! Pretty obvious really...

I found this gorgeous image of a bird's nest on a sheet of Heartwarming Vintage images. These vintage images sheets are SO perfect for ATCs. First I stuck down some cream mesh ribbon on a patterned paper base, stuck the nest image on top and applied Crackle Accents over the surface. Once dry and nicely crackled, I added a little bird from the same sheet of vintage images, added a quote and some German Scraps that I had rubbed Antique Linen Distress Ink into.

For the feather, I applied a tiny amount of PVA Glue over the surface, rubbing it in with my fingertip and allowed it to become slightly tacky. Then I used 'Joss' paper to apply some gold to the feather. I finished it off by rubbing in the Antique Linen Distress Ink and then adding it to the ATC so that it was cradling the nest.

See you tomorrow ATCers.

An ATC A Day - Day 2

Hi All

Welcome to Day 2 of my ATC's. Today I could not resist playing with this adorable little teapot. At first I thought I would make an Alice in Wonderland ATC. Wouldn't it be just perfect for a Mad Hatter's Tea Party? However.....

....I came across some Heartwarming Vintage images which had the 'Dear Mother' tag. I matched it up with some broderie anglaise, some Do Crafts Papermania patterned paper and a cameo image cut from some K & Co patterned paper.

For the teapot itself, I first used a flourish stamp and stamped the image onto the teapot with Distress Embossing Ink. I quickly sprinkled with UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) and set with a heat gun. Next I rubbed in Shabby Shutters Distress Ink using a sponge applicator before finishing off by drowning it in Marshmallow Glimmermist. See these little beauties can take quite a battering!! LOL

Thanks for looking and I hope I'll see ya tomorrow. I'm off to make a few more ATCs. YIPPEE!!

PS: Sorry about the shadows on the photo! Wrong time of day to be taking photos!

An ATC A Day - Day 1

Hi everyone

I have set myself a challenge of creating an Artist Trading Card a day for the next couple of weeks. (What was I thinking??!!). So I thought I would share them with you. On each of the ATCs I am using one of the brand spanking new RW Laser Cuts ATC Miniatures.

This first ATC uses the sweet little butterfly...

I first applied pink ink to the butterfly and then gave it a good coat of Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint. Once that was dry, I sprayed it lightly with Pearl Glimmermist just to give it a little shimmer. To finish, I simply popped on a tiny Kaiser Rhinestone.

Other products used on the ATC include some Heartwarming Vintage elements, a little Do Crafts Papermania paper, some broderie anglaise and book paper. Antique Linen Distress Ink was used on the edges of all paper.

Hope you like. Will be back tomorrow with another ATC to share.

Housescape

Hi everyone. Thought I'd share a layout that I completed on the weekend. The layout uses the palette and sketch from a challenge blog and is also featured on the RW Laser Cuts Blog. As soon as I saw the burnt oranges, cream and brown in the palette I immediately thought 'RUSTIC'!! I just happened to have a photo to suit....

First, let me say that is not actually my house!! LOL. There are no doors or windows (that are attached to where they are supposed to be anyway) and there isn't even a floor. It is actually the old stone smokehouse on our farm. I just love the beautiful old stone and I know that one day this building would love to be transformed into my scrap studio!!! LOL

This layout features some gorgeous pattern papers by Kaiser and Stamp It, a bit of lace, some flowers a Jenni Bowlin Bingo card and that lovely Housescape by RW Laser Cuts. I decided to leave the laser cut raw in keeping with the rustic feel of the page but some Pumpkin Pie Glimmermist would have looked equally as nice. The 'Paradise' lettering is Kaiser Devonshire Alpha Stickers on Kaiser Chipboard Alphas and the 'Found' lettering is brand new Fancy Pants.

Thanks for looking and I'll be back with another share soon.
