SIA & Updates

Well its Thursday today and getting closer to next week... wait I have not told you yet what is happening next week! :)
I am off to Sydney to attend the SIA (Scrapbooking Industry Association) where I get to do some classes/ make and takes and network, to bring back even more ideas, projects,  products just for you! Cant wait....watch this space for my updates!
Whilst I am away classes will continue as normal, and thanks girls for holding the fort for me... you always do a great job

We are still experiencing problems with facebook and it not updating any blog entries... so appologies there, we are still trying to iron out the errors.

5 Big Boxes in today!

We had 5 BIG Boxes turn up from America Today, and there were grins all round I can tell you! :)  it was quite hard work unpacking it all, it took a lot of effort to oogle at all the new stuff we are out of breath! lol

SO what arrived?

Layout and a Cool Technique

Hi there

Thought I'd share a really cool and very easy technique using RW Laser Cuts Ebony Cuts and Glimmermist. I had a layout in mind and wanted to create a rusty wrought iron effect with my Ebony Cuts. SO all I did was give the two Whirlicious Ebony Cuts a couple of coats of Pumpkin Pie Glimmermist (allowing the first coat to dry before applying the second) and here is the result:



It really does look rusty and for very little effort!! I also used some gorgeous Kaiser Devonshire papers as well as some Fancy Pants paper from the brand new My Family range, some Prima flowers, a bit of hessian and the totally gorgeous picket fence border punch by Martha Stewart.

fabulous collage images

For all you ATC freaks like me out there,Simone has some fabulous collage image sheets in store. My current favourite is one called"Ancient Egypt' :an A4 sheet of lovely distressed faces,all with wonderfully evocative expressions that lend themselves beautifully to a range of techniques.The paper is smooth and a little shiny so I have successfully been able to use them for tape transfers as well as directly glued to paper.

The first 3 cards also use "found poetry" ie random words and phrases cut from a page of text and reassembled to form a poem of sorts.

The last was made for a swap called"ransom note" and uses letter cut from a junk mail catalogue-not all supplies are expensive!
